    Martens travelled for two years with his video camera in the Democratic Republic of Congo, an area marked by humanitarian disaster, questioning why the Western 'poverty' industry are benefactors rather than the people in the images.

    关于非洲刚过共和国的纪录片,讲述了一个不仅仅被自然,物质所贫乏的国度,也有关于人道,思考和西方工业下所凿空的贫穷。

    安的笔记

    纪录片的意义所在就是真实的接触到那些所有在书本,图画和声音当中才能接触到的一切,然后引起个人与社会的共鸣和责任感。很多纪录片的制作者在制作当中都尽量最大程度上的保留真实,而电影,或者说文艺片都是在纪录片的基础上升华并且着重于自己需要表达的方向,加之艺术的处理,使之成为更加美化或者不再具备太过现实化的产品。

    揭露和质疑的力量是否强大和有力,完全融合于一个艺术作品的形式和强大的内涵,和所采取的角度。纪录片是我所钦佩的形式之一,因为通过对真实事件的剪辑,精确的表达出来自己所想要描述的内容是一种很困难的技术。

    Whether the Power of uncovering and questioning the reality is strong and formidable, in a large extention, it depends on the fusion of an art works format, contents and the artist's view. Documentary films is one of the patterns that I admire. Though selecting and sorting the real events, expressing precisely about one's idea is a difficult task. The duty of a documentary film is to touch the things that merely can be perceived through indirect medias, then call on individuals' and society's responses.
