    一定趁着放假的时间好好改过

What Adelina Vlas interested me is not about her project, but about her initiatives of doing such projects. Maybe just for me, it is kind of strange  to think about a student who achieved her master degree in an European education institution to work in the states. Based upon my limited knowledge about the art, Europe would the considered higher place for art, no matter in exhibitions, or in the making art processes. Adelina Vlas is from that background, and what she is doing at PMA is about introducing relatively young and emerging artists in the modern art area. Modern art is definitely a fresh and controversial area. For its special characters, it does not need very comprehensive reflections and other related skills such as preservation, and art technique studies about it. Also, in her own introduction, when she introduced the different producing process of the videos, and the artists' purposes behind the screens, she demonstrated only a few ideas. Most of them came out with free wills, and also the beginning inspirations.
So what does a person do in an institute like PMA for modern art?
First of all, I would say "presenting the young artists." Using Adelina Vlas's program as an example, the artists who she has chosen are basically from the similar background, artists from Brooklyn, from a minority culture, etc. They would not be presented along with the mainstream in the art world. They fit into the positions that could be considered as appropriate for them, where the platform for them does not require much more than their own art..
Secondly, the idea is about "new media". Video clips are innovative. So are the black butterflies decorations, and photo collages. Lack of desperation is one of the common distributions of modern art. "Well, you know the ideas." Television and computer are creating more visual people than before. New media is the best method to express these "complex" situations and deep thoughts. How would you like this? It is new and  we should all learn.
Third, sub-culture and the disappearing sites are important. "The world is flat." Thomas L. Friedman said. Flatness also means that people could have more, because they see more. And more importantly, they who have less before deserve more. In this case, as a sign for fairness and peace, please do help propaganda for the minor cultures and areas where only have few resources. Feel sorry and regretful about the dying culture that we almost missed, and feel shallow when standing in front of the differences that we could find inspirations from, though they are just objects that are away from the locations.
Oh, sorry about the negative thoughts.
Maybe this is the modern art is about, critiques.
